"I'm looking for the setting called "use system title bar and borders" in settings, I tried checking on appearance, but I can't find it. can anyone help?"

"Right click on the area next to the “+” right of the right most tab to open a context menu. Here the setting “Use system title and borders” can be checked." 

(NT:  click to the right of the plus to the right of the rightmost tab, then Customise Toolbar; then in the resulting tab, check the "Title bar" checkbox at the bottom left.  Spiffing!)
