gnu:  P4-HT, 512KB-L2, 2.6GHz
	1-process:	 63s
	2-processes:	101s each (user time on pseudo-(HT)CPU)

magsim:  2xXeon-HT 1MB-L2, 3.0GHz
	1-process:	 59s
	[note: also running matlab (100%) but on other real CPU]
	
box: amd64 3500+, 2.2GHz
	1-process:	 55s
	(this is apparently independent of whether the 
	generic 32-bit binary or the specific 64-bit version
	is used!)
	[note:  `box' was running amule and tvtime as well]
