2013-04-07. Time to look these things up a bit, instead of getting annoyed after upgrades (e.g. OpenSuSE 12.2 --> 12.3 just recently, which meant no camera access, audio troubles, etc). Camera (libgphoto): Instead of fooling around with guesses or coarse-grained access, run /usr/lib/libgphoto2/print-camera-list udev-rules mode 0666 >/etc/udev/rules.d/90-libgphoto2.rules (based on http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/applications/457344-digikam-i-can-only-access-camera-root-user-opensuse-11-4-kde.html ) Audio: Problem of users getting "dummy output" in their kmix. Normal pulseaudio setup nowadays is user-level pulse daemon. User thus needs soundcard access: add to audio group. Doesn't seem important to be in pulse-access group: perhaps that's for when the daemon is a system-wide one.
