2006-02-10 Continuation of the benches. nlap is the IBM thinkpad laptop with P3cpu and 256MB RAM running on battery (550MHz instead of 700). gnu_1 is the first configuration of gnu as an amd64: Athlon64 3700+ 2.2GHz 1024KB L2cache 1024MB dual-channel DDR400 ASUS K8T890-based mboard 64-bit matlab 7.1 (v7sp3) gnu was tested again after the memory was changed for a similar specification (CL2.5,DDR400,2x512MB) that worked stably (the original memory, of the gnu_1 test, was from a Dell computer and didn't work stably -- perhaps it didn't report its details properly): the results were the same to 3 sig. fig.s `one': is the P4 (32bit) for comparison, copied from the tests of 2006-02-01: p4, HT, 3.0GHz, 512KB L2 1G RAM linux-2.6.13 (gentoo system) box_1 is copied from the earlier, 2006-02-01 test: amd64 3500+, Venice core, 2.2GHz, 512KB L2 1G RAM (dualch DDR400) ASUS VIA-K8T890-based mboard linux-2.6.15 (gentoo system) box_2 is modified from box_1 only in having lost one stick of RAM, thereby making it single channel mode (and assume we can neglect the difference in actual _size_ of memory..?) box_3 is back to 1GB dual channel, and with the motherboard changed for a nforce4-based Abit one with the same CPU and memory. Results given are means of several (3-5) consecutive runs, and are not given unless every test had the same time to within about 2% between runs.
