My work up to the `licentiate' degree (a sort of halfway to PhD) was some initial assessment of the possibilities for simultaneous DS (dielectric spectroscopy) and PD (partial discharge) measurement at varied low frequency, as applied to the insulation of high-voltage stator windings.
The thesis and the presentation (which is mainly a subset of the thesis) give the details. As a very short summary, the results suggest that rather than the PD measurement giving a good agreement with DS measurement of the PD current, which would allow for example removal of the PD component of current from the DS measurements, a more promising line of work are use of the DS system for measurement of the whole PD current, possibly in conjunction with a PD system that detects the largest pulses.
